February 17th, 2203, the Central Kafrican Senate.
It was a normal, uninteresting day of congressional business in the upper chamber of the Central Kafrican democracy. Its experiment progressing nicely as had been for the last nearly 15 years. The speaker indicated that debate was to begin on a proposal by the Senator for North Grestin, the SKNWP aligned with Bo Barr. He rose to the podium as traditional and began to speak.
“This Nation, a Union of several States. This idea, this experiment of democracy has held steadfast over the last 150 years. As much as the world powers disagree with us and our position, from the fires of Krome, to the phoenix of Central Kafrica and the Kafrican century, lead by the charge of the President, Mr Blimp Drimp. It is time that we expand our horizons once more. Krome once held sway over the democratic values of Benine, Norland and Nautilus. We had allies in the far west, Owlia was a democratic nation not so similar to the Kroman system at the time. A system that we, today, as Kafricans inherit and embrace. The policy and position that i propose to you, my friends, my colleagues and my fellow Kafricans, my fellow people of the planet Kerbin. Is one of the most important policy decisions of all nations, where do we stand in the world and what is our purpose? It is something that we have grappled and debated for almost a century now, after the fall of Krome, the failure of their policies. Beaten down by the evils of the Stahl Sieg and Zokesian commerce, a commerce that plagued the Kroman system. But now, in the twenty third century, we stand once more. In 2052, the Kroman Senate had the same question as we do now, what is our destiny, what is our purpose in the world?
This question is one that isn’t just one of the administration, but of the general trajectory. Zokesia, over successive governments have prioritised the stimulation of their Industry through allowing nations to buy arms from them, regardless of Governmental political concerns. Krome’s role throughout the 2050s and the early 2060s was to expand democratic values and freedoms throughout the world, a policy that succeeded until they attempted to spread their tendril over that of New Grestin. Alas came the long march of democracy to its grave. The destiny of the Kafrican people is to be that of one, it is common sense that we follow in the footsteps of our ancestors, the question of Grestin is mostly settled in this day, for the people of Grestin have been subdued by external actors. The long hand of Kafrican democracy has saved them.
It is common sense, that in this, the twenty third and Kafrican century, that the United States of Central Kafrica expands her role in international politics, and international policy. Our resilience is second to no other power, we have survived the trials of the twenty first, the genocides of the twenty second, it is that i settle my personal belief that Central Kafrica as an idea was ordained by the god above in high heaven. If our ideology is so resilient to torment, it must be then, that the god above, wishes for Kafrican democracy to save this world from the terror of oppression and war. God blessed this nation, and we shall return his blessing with a manifestation of the divine destination he had in mind. No matter which ideology prevails domestically, the international sentiment of our experiment working is that of a proof. A proof that the powers that attempted to stamp out Kroman democracy were doing such out of fear for its divinity. We must ensure that the shine of his will is maintained! It is this idea, Speaker, Fellow Congressmen and Congresswomen that we should follow into the forthcoming century, a century of Kafrican exceptionalism. Kafrican exceptionalism that we, the people, will lead!
Thank you.”
An applause, breaking out from both sides of the aisle erupted to drown out the footsteps of retreat of Bo to his seat. Despite the distrust of the Drimp Administration, there is a unifying idea of what this nation is and will forever be as much as the mechanisms of evil attempt to strike it down.
Democracy stands. God Blessed the United States of Central Kafrica.
