From the barren ashes of the old, now rise new monoliths of progress.

-President AureliƩn Juliano

The hustle and bustle of construction vehicles is all we can hear now, in what used to be one of the largest holy sites in southern Alecton. The Temple of our Holy Tentacled One of the local Ikacci Thallassi was reduced to little more than rock and dust after a drone attack, during the tragic events of Concordia two years ago. In a move which was seen as highly controversial among the more religious of the locals, the federal government acquired the land for redevelopment shortly after the war concluded. We now stand at the site of what will be the second largest SPACOM factory in the state, part of a larger push for more domestic defense spending by president Montano.

We are now standing at the barbed-wire fence around the construction site, together with some locals protesting the project. Many have had long-standing qualms with the New-Forsetia-based defense contractor. Tensions have once again flaired up after one of their employees, an Aretian (Erusi) engineer named Andrei Popescu, went missing after leaving the company earlier this year. Many conspiracy theorists claimed this was the work of SPACOM, silencing mister Popescu who they say was a whistleblower leaking information to the public. This ridiculous claim has now once again given fuel to the fire in the Thallassi locals, who continue to shout and taunt the workers behind the fence.

The president has been very vocal about increasing security in the northern state of Alecton since the conclusion of the rebellion. Record amounts of Larrean army divisions have been moved up north from Aretia, in military bases built across the entire state. SPACOM once again secured many new contracts in the herculean effort of rebuilding and rearming Alecton, now nearing completion on another aerospace manufacturing facility. Ikai-Marion were also in talks with the central government for acquiring some more government-held plots of destroyed land, after they lost an important shipbuilding facility up north. They too are rumored to start construction on two new factories, their exact locations still being undecided.
