Whosoever wishes to be born must first destroy the world (Láeráise 2nd, 2204)
The controversial Sahren prasident Danak Kyrt has formally signed temporary resignation from his position while recovering from injuries, placing his assistant in temporary control of his duties. He has repeatedly turned away those asking for his opinion on who is responsible, eventually refusing to talk to any journalists whatsoever on any matter. This inactivity has led to other members of his cabinet accusing both the new Ascensionists and the older radical parties like 2nd Labour and 2nd National Salvation movement.
Public waryness over what they see as overly powerful government institutions led to thousands immediately taking up protest after nearly every Ascensionist and ADCL adjascent paper accused the assassination as an SRGIA setup to institute a total surveillance state. Prominent Ascensionist leaders soon joined them and continued to whip them into an anger fueled fever pitch.
Having lost their fringe allies, the United Sahrland coalition now only consists of the Worker's party and Nælfonds who now need seventy-four seats to regain their majority-- far beyond their current fourty-three. Meanwhile ADCL and their allies have shot up to seventy-three seats, thirty one gained just from their new allies! The only hope for United Sahrland is the remaining centrists, whose loyalty ADCL has completely failed to acquire (despite their best efforts).
WIth so much political upheaval and so few practical changes many have come to wonder if democracy will survive in Sahrland at all in the near future. The public has become desensatised to violence on the streets, the upper class getting away with crime, and polarised to a not insignificant degree. Even the supposedly politically neutral military has become divided, with the Navy and Korych going all in with the ascensionists while the Republican Guard maintains their stance that domestic terrorism is the biggest threat.
And within all this, Kara Lavro still claims the crown was stolen from her, and quite blatantly abuses the privelages of royalty to make life as hard as possible for Reydi-kæ.
