Novenadian Navy to license produce PLAID Perennial corvette
The Novenadian Navy has confirmed that it will be purchasing at least 8 Perennial corvettes, with an additional 8 planned, under the Coastal Combatant Program. These corvettes will provide a much needed anti-submarine and anti-piracy capability, freeing the more capable Skimer-class frigates to operate with other Pan-Veiidic Commonwealth navies.
The ships will be license built by Ratoskal with PLAID support, which nearly doubles the cost of the program when compared to an equivalent order of ships built directly by PLAID. This has created some controversy over the program, but the Minister for Defense Alekse Dorovic has stated that PLAID-built ships would take much longer thanks to the massive orders flooding the company.
According to anonymous sources, the Defense Cabinet cried with joy upon seeing the ships.
