Svila-class commissioning ceremony
The final two Svila-class attack submarines have been commissioned today at the Port of Nrida naval base, and have now entered active service. This marks the end of the 5 year period of construction, with all 6 Svila-class submarines built by Ratoskal PR now operational and ready to support the Novenad Defensive Navy and Pan-Veiidic Expeditionary Forces.
The ceremony took place earlier today, at 12:00 AM Tau Standard Time. Present was Prime Minister Ana Berislav, who presented Captain Jelena Yetrovic of NV Tishina and Captain Orel Nadezhda of NV Zetela with the traditional flasks of Spiyrt and seawater for their voyages.
NV Tishina and NV Zetela slipped out of the pier as the sun set on the congregation, started up their diesel propulsion, and sailed out of the harbour with the grace and silence of a shark. With them went a question asked almost as quietly as the submarines themselves; what would this new century bring for the people of Novenad?
