President Lilly Barrett retains Memorial House
At 10pm, on November 12th, 2209, the polling stations around Central Kafrica closed their doors and began counting the ballots cast. The 4th election of our Federal system is at an end. Months upon months of campaigning for all involved, including the sitting President, who took a back seat to international diplomacy to focus upon her ambitions of securing reelection.
By daybreak, the votes had been counted, and the result was decisive to the President herself. Mustering around 42% of the popular vote at the ballot box. Her victory is accredited to her, and former President Rhonda Reguwu's deft handling of the crisis between the Imperial Union and the United States of Central Kafrica. Which gives hope in her steadfast promises to keep the nation out of the conflict in lands afar, the electorate generally voted for the Constitutional Alliance Party and its members. Stability and slow going progress, advancing forth meticulously calculated in the Fentagon. This was her campaign motto and pledge, to continue doing what she had been doing for the last 5 years, her running mate, once again was Vice President Jordyn Maldonado.
Coming in a close second place was the Strelkan Kroman National Worker’s Party who had seen a surprising uptick in support in light of the recent war, framing it as a disaster of Kafrican policy to keep our hands out of a war that could return to our shores at a moment’s notice. Yet the people wish for peace, the disaster of the Kafrican civil war too fresh in the memories of those who fought in it. However, as CAP continues to be the ruling force in our Federal Government, there is a storm of purple brewing, for in any previous Kafrican election, those seeking to emplace a Monarchy upon Central Kafrica gained a foothold, only 5% of the vote. Yet sources in the Kafrican news media are saying that this 5% is all it could take to topple the Federal government in a few Presidential cycles.
God Bless the United States of Central Kafrica.
