After a sweeping win and a busy first term, Ana Berislav has been reelected for a second term as Prime Minister of Novenad.

Ana Berislav was born 8 years (2163) after the Novenadian Revolution to the first Prime Minister of Novenad, Lucija Berislav. From a young age, Ana was fascinated by economics, politics, and sciences. She graduated from secondary school a year early, and then four years later graduated from the University of Novenad with a degree in engineering physics. Two years later, she literally wrote the book on modern Novenadian economics as a thesis for her dual Masters in Economics and Political Science.

In 2188, Ana mourned the loss of her mother, withdrawing from the public eye for several years while she worked on a law degree. Upon her return, she announced her candidacy for the role of National Council for Economics in the 2191 elections and supported Alekandric Yavonov of the Novenad Progressive Democrats, declaring him a leader that the revolutionary leaders would be proud to follow.

Following Yavanov’s successful win, Ana worked on revitalizing trade and internal support systems and pushed both internally and externally for joining the Pan-Veiidic Commonwealth. Her efforts culminated in a successful referendum, and Novenad joined the PVC in 2195.

Her term on the National Council was notable for effective legislature and collaboration with other National Council members, particularly Defense and International Relations.

Ana surprised no-one by splitting off from the NPD and joining the People's Revolutionaries, declaring her run for Prime Minister to replace the retiring Alekandric Yavonov. Her candidacy was met with massive approval by the public, and she won the 2196 elections by an astounding 23% margin.

Unfortunately, her term wouldn't be as smooth as her election. In April of 2197, a group of religious terrorists styling themselves “the Guardians of Perfection” bombed several public facilities across the country, including churches and high schools. Ana responded by mobilizing all of Special Operations Command to combat the terrorists, a three-month operation codenamed DIVINE SPEAR to smoke them out of a series of abandoned mining tunnels in the Karjinas. Operation DIVINE SPEAR culminated with the leader of the Guardians of Perfection being captured, sentenced, and hung for his crimes.

As an engineer by trade, Ana had a paid internship at the Special Particle Collider while completing her engineering degree, and later played a major role in keeping the Special Particle Collider from being canceled. She was present at the opening ceremony, and made the keynote speech proclaiming the SPC to be a symbol of how far Novenad has come since the turbulent decades of the early 2100s. Near the end of her speech, Ana said

“I wish my mother could have seen how far we've come, and how far we will continue together in this new century.”

Now Ana is following further in her mother's footsteps, as the only Prime Minister since Lucijia to serve two terms. No matter what happens, Novenadians have at least one thing we can be confident in; our nation is in capable hands.
