Dorislav to drop automotive numbering system for military non-combat and civilian vehicles

Starting Apr. 10, 2212 Dorislav will cease using the numbering system used to designate vehicles used in non-combat roles (e.g. trucks) and civilian vehicles which has been in place since 2154 and last updated in 2173. The purpose of this is to give car manufacturers more freedom when it comes to naming their products, making it easier to give generations of their products a more memorable name, rather than just a string of numbers and the marque's name.
While manufacturers are still required to ensure their products abide by official state-sanctioned automotive design rules, they are free to continue naming their products under this system, even after it is discontinued, or cease doing so entirely.
