The house always wins
The economic crisis of 2213 lingers. The global economy and the global system falls silent. The endless stream of information relating to far off conflicts in the Baskay fall to the silent hum of computer fans and hard disks.
Corruption in the previous administration had mysteriously disappeared. Newly elected President Dave Handley gazed at the new economic outlook. It was bleak. Minimal GDP growth, minimal reserve currency. The Kafrican experiment was buckling. Yet, a mandate is a mandate.
In his first Presidential budget request to the senate, Memorial House requested that the funding to the Union’s wildly successful elderly social security project be slashed. As well as this, the budget for the day to day operations of the Federal Government were to be cut too. Under the financial authorisation act (FY2215) the senate were asked to vote upon the prospect of importing 100% of military goods. Memorial House has repeated diplomatic overtures in the last decade of peace and prosperity for all Kerbals across Kerbin and the wider Kerbol system.
In making it more difficult and more expensive for Kafrican corporations to procure armaments, it is hoped that the olive branch of peace may fly upon the dove to our friends and foes alike.
A secondary inclusion to the authorisation request, but one of equal if not greater impact to the Kafrican people themselves is the proposal that the Federal Government hold at least 5,000,000 Rubbies in a new fund, which is to be incorperated as the West Kafrican Index (WESKAFDEX)
It is hoped that this new fund will allow for the United States of Central Kafrica to ensure the prosperity of its peoples, to eventually hope in lessening the infamous high taxes of Central Kafrica. The President has pledged that by the end of his 1st term, he shall have congress lower taxes to 42% or less. With such an ambitious claim, the Kafrican media has been rightfully doubtful of the ability for such a newcomer to Kafrican politics to pull the feat off with efficency.
