Complaint written by an unidentified individual on behalf of Bresnt's defense ministry regarding defective rifles bought from Bolkar Arsenal. Radiocarbon dating suggests it was written between 2000 and 2014. The text is as follows:
I am writing this on behalf of Bresnt's Ministry of Defense to discuss the 100 Type 05 rifles you gave us.
When an envoy sent by our President came to Bolkar Arsenal, you promised, 'Our rifles are built with great quality and reliability, and can be fired up to 10,000 times before needing an overhaul', as well as that they would arrive within a few weeks' time. Yes, they arrived on schedule, but when we tested them, several of them did not perform as promised.
Three rifles suffered catastrophic malfunctions which resulted in them exploding, severely injuring their users. We suspect these were either heavily used or made of a steel alloy not rated for the extremely high pressures that these guns require to operate correctly. Two rifles suffered squib loads, which necessitated barrel replacement.
About the revolvers we bought a few years back, they were completely fine, but that's not the subject matter here. I am here to complain about the rifles you gave us.
Now, I am demanding that you either refund us and we return the rifles, OR we return the problematic rifles and you give us new ones. You should be inspecting every rifle made before you ship them to us. One does NOT send his products to the buyer right away. He tests them first before doing so. Why have you failed to do that?
May this be a lesson for you, for we will not buy any weapons from Bolkar Arsenal ever again, unless you demonstrate an improvement in the quality of your firearms. In addition, we will be pouring more resources into local firearms production here in Bresnt.
The Type 05 rifle is a rifle produced by Bolkar Arsenal, entering service in 1905 with the Aecirovian Army. During the warlord era in Dorislav which lasted from the late 20th century to the 2070s, it was the mainstay of practically every city-state in this region, thanks to its reliability and firepower, which made it great for shooting from afar.
