The freedom of fellow Kafricans

Post by Evie »

In light of the recent events in Svarskia, at the request of the recently sworn-in Senator Lilly Barrett of Southern Faucks. Congress held a Senate committee meeting on the subject of the protests in the Imperial Union’s Svarskian colony.

Beginning with opening remarks, Mrs Barrett stated “It is to my best knowledge that the people of Svarskia, particularly those who are ethnically of Grestinian descent. Protest the lack of their freedoms. As much as we value the strength given to us by the fruitful Imperial Union. We have as much a right to self determination as they do, we as Kafricans must realise that this is one of the final holdovers of Kafrican oppression.”
Immediately after, Max Hughes took to the podium to speak, “The Imperial Union, a nation ran by fellow Kafricans, is suffering a minor domestic upset. An upset of other Kafrican peoples, it is in the best interests of this Administration to project a perspective of unity and prosperity. The agitators within the protest cry out to destabilise our foreign relations. Yet I shall concede that, using force upon them is not the Kafrican way.” the debate carried on, going back and forth between representatives of multiple states, Bo Barr expressed a desire to “Push the Imperial Union’s yoke out of Kafrican and Grestin lands! It is common sense that this President would support military action in Svarskia before the Imperial Union bombed our brethren!" The rest of the senate gasped at this threat, however much they worried about being usurped on the continent by these relative newcomers to identifying as Kafrican, there was no hope of showing technological superiority.

Rising to speak was Jordynn Maldonado, Senator for South Comer, the political student of former President Reguwu: “What if Kafrica’s strength is not through military, what if we were to allow Grestinians to cross the border and become fully naturalised citizens of the United States of Central Kafrica. After all it is our duty, as a Kafrican country, to assist our fellow Kafrican peoples in their hour of need. I hereby propose the following to the executive branch: we allow people who are protesting to cross the border, we allow our Grestinian brothers, our Grestinian sisters, to take refuge in the United States of Central Kafrica. These people, much like us, have suffered. These people have suffered the exact same imperialistic yoke that the peoples of Bown, Diosca, Rinn and I may go on listing every city in our blessed Union.” Following this, a break was called for senators to catch their breath, have a sip of water, and refresh their minds for another session of debate. Opening this session, the Speaker had gone around a majority of Senators and gotten their approval to submit a request for action to the President, with the backing of the Senate, to open the southern border. Opening the afternoon session, the Speaker rose and addressed the house: “I welcome you all back after lunch, I have done some polling and the popularity of Senator Maldonado, the Senator for Southern Comer, has gained traction. I propose that any Senator seeking to amend her request to the President, speak now, before we officially vote on this emergency matter of national policy.” Before the Speaker had finished, Bo Barr rose to the podium and placed his fists on the desk, sighing before speaking “I do not believe, that the Imperial Union, should hold land in Svarskia, should the protestors fleeing for greener pastures be shot, what is our response? Do we have a response? This nation is quickly becoming a puppet of the imperial powers who aggressively struck down our first democracy! I propose an amendment to the policy, we ask the President to seek guarantees from other nations, that should Grestinians, escaping Svarskia, be shot, that those nations will not just use words. But use force against the evils of this world!” Before he sat, the Senator for Bown rose to speak, directly, to Bo Barr “You’ve added nothing.” he sighed and sat down, muttering beneath his breath “What a waste of oxygen…” in reference to Bo Barr’s speech. The measure was put to a preliminary vote, the house voting with a 75% favourability of passing the directive to the executive branch.

The Svarskian Border act, 2203
This is an act of the Congress of the United States of Central Kafrica, in the year 2203. This act will automatically expire in 2207 unless Congress decrees such.

The United States of Central Kafrica, directs its border guards, in the State of Faucks, to allow any person with documentation, that can be verified through passport and birth certificate, that can prove their descendency within the last 2 generations of having 2 parents, or 2 grandparents who are of Grestin descent. Grestinian Descent is described as being born within the southern portion of the United States of Central Kafrica, the Colony of Svarskia, the Kerbal Space Center or the region commonly described as “Tekkia” otherwise defined as territory of Aontas that are east of the strait between Kafrica and Kolus.

Upon crossing, Grestinian immigrants gain a 7 year grace period with immigration authorities to get their immigration documentation in order and seek official asylum. To support this, the Federal Government is to construct immigration document processing facilities in the border towns and cities. Commanding them from a new headquarters in Faucks.

Large numbers of black trucks have been seen crossing the Svarskia-Kafrica border, transporting Grestinians to safety.

These trucks have been subject to checks, and the occupants have been disembarked, we will not allow vehicles to cross our border, only disarmed, civilians. Their drivers have been sent back as a precaution to protect our national security.
