The bird flies to God (Zayu 2nd, 2205)

Post by slavic blin »

As with some posts before, I have left some words deliberately untranslated from Egercian so as to properly express the wordage being used. You must know the following:
Shevspendin - Chevspendic word for Greater Family, the direct root of the name of the Chevpsendi, who become the Sahrens in 2106.
Otagasi - the head of an Otbasi, which is itself a division within the Chevspendic horde similar to a tribe or large family.

With the left alienated into allying with the Ascensionists by accusations of political violence, and the right coming to represent a threat from the SRGIA and Republican Guard, the 2205 Sahren presidential elections have turned into a complete landslide in favour of Frei-ako Tengin. This marks a historical moment for Ascensionism as it is the first time the ideology has implanted itself in a nation.

He begins with a speech before Parliament, and to the world.

“I have the honour of announcing to the chamber that acting-president Seán Kæskigyl has formally resigned his position, so that on the same day I could be inaugurated into that same sacred office. I thank him dearly for his efforts in keeping the nation civil and organized in the time of crisis which imposed itself upon him.

For nearly two decades now crises in the government have presented themselves, and to push through them, underhanded and petty maneuvers have been attempted, to little success. The results of which are already apparent; the loss of the Commonwealth and an entire generation growing up in an era of death-without-oblivion, wherein dread over the appearance of permanent and helpless societal decline ruled the day, while our enemies abroad have entrenched themselves upon our doorstep. Now, as with in 2149, the Sahren nation has seen this through enough, and has fabricated for herself the means of her self-ownership.

I MAINTAIN my utmost respect and thanks to the scarlet-ribbonded, seizing what they must themselves the means of development and justice. We could have, of course, simply marched on Khosa like that tyrant Grail, but I imposed limits upon myself in the name of the sanctity of all that is lawful and peaceful here. Thirty-thousand able bodied individuals, possessing the arms necessary, could have been and would have accepted my plea to tear down all those who slandered the movement, burning down parliament and formed a government exclusively of our own, but I did not dream of a world where this was necessary, and so acted as if it was not, which in terne made such a world the only one to exist.

I have put together a government with a wide coalition, not to secure a majority, but so every different flavour of our Shevspendin’s lamentations can be heard in this chamber, and to set aside questions of loyalty for the sake of mending our wounds.

Many are skeptical or outright confused over our programme, and I must tell them this question is irrelevant. The Edict which will solve all struggles of contemporary Sahren life have already been laid on paper. It is not theories we need, but those willing to believe in them, and those who will not chastise others for proposing new ideas to replace rotten ones.

THE WORLD WONDERS our foreign policy, so I shall say it with haste; The apprehensions and fears over our place within Aontas are unfounded. Treaties must be considered, either well constructed or thrown together, as something to be loyally followed, and in the process of following proven absurd or appropriate. This much should be obvious, but it is important, for following these principles the current rendition of the Treaty of Cath must be followed to the letter, and only when pushed to exhaust all methods of renegotiation, only then dissolved. This also means the things we are entitled to from other nations must be followed to the letter, meaning the current situation of Sahren Royal Sovereignty must continue.

Having established treaties must be followed and demanded to be followed to the letter, I must fundamentally reject the premise of many recent cooperative ideologies. There is a necessity of co-dependancy in our corner of the world, but in our attempts to make the world itself obsolete, we cannot let ourselves become beholden to altruistic obligations kerbinside. The old policy of Nemqurpolitik serves us use here; we must only engage with foreign states in so far as we can both gain something– beyond that, passive-hostility must be assumed on their part.

The Ascensionist Edict has lain clearly our plan to mobilise all available methodologies toward Ascension. The path out of the last twenty years of deadlock is an intersectional rejection of the things which lead to it in the first place. The fresh era for our people is in the chasing of new steppes, away from the forces which forged Sahrland in the first place. In the pursuit of this end the entire state must be reorganised such that success may only come by benefitting Ascension in some way, thus, completely abolishing the concept of the civilian, at least temporarily.

Our founding father, the one at the beginning of the whole Shevspendin named Ataqi-Ouli, has prophesied this day long before we even knew the Aetherial realm was traversable. You are all most certainly already familiar, it is said in the darkest hour of his descendants, his spirit, sealed away in the Mountain Sabre, will possess their children and lead them to ascend to God-like beings. It is clear then, The ascension of the race is not an ideology or a state mandate but a divine commandment from the master of the universe.

ALREADY there are neighsayers and cynics within our own ranks and abroad ready to tear apart this movement at a moment’s notice. They fear our quick rise to power and will continue to fabricate evil reasons why, and use those to justify the building of their strength to vanquish or expel us to satisfy their own fear. Do not be deceived by these Cannibals in Capal clothing, The Shevspendin has found itself with a spiritual unity not found since before the Chevspendic invasion of Egercia, from the wandering Otagasis to the metropolis of Klensagrad. Let us work together, then, for the sake of our children, and their children, and their children, with boundless hope and love, to build a bright future on the Aethereal steppe where we find and have always found our greatest comfort.”

His opening speech barely differed from things he has said before, the only revelation is that now the Chevspendic prophecy has been finalised. The nation of Sahrland no longer exists, nor does the concept of the “civilian”. In its place is a mass, a collective body of Ataqi-Ouli poised to fly for the stars.

When the night comes, Tengin intentionally forgoes his medication to converse with the stars again. They have become louder, of course, or maybe they seem louder because he is used to them being quieter. He hears them plead, demanding him to spread his wings and join them. To the brightest star of them all, the one which sounds like his long-gone brother Tekina, he promises to come soon.
