Ever since the Ascensionists won parliamentary majority in 2204 Aontan shipyards have recieved a flood of contracts for both armed and unarmed space ships. This only intensified after the presidential election in 2205, supported by new austerity measures and a complicated series of financial programs the public now calls the KACTA bills, named after the Aerospace Research Society Financial Corporation (Korparætziya Ærgeadæs Chymann Tægkh Æraspæs) associated with it. Alongside this is a large scale program to hire space travel instructors from Tekkia and mass training of new crews.
Additionally the Sahren Navy has come to make up the most of Sahren military spending, rising to nearly double the Republican Guard. The Korych follows a similar trend, once only a singular division it has now swelled to theoretically the same size as the Republican Guard as long as inactive reserves are not considered.
Positions in the armed forces show a disproportionately change as well. at least 110 high ranking positions in the Republican Guard have been sacked or coerced into early retirement while the Navy only lost nine and the Korych only lost two. It is beyond clear the armed forces had some role behind the scenes in the wrap-up of the Sahren power struggle, and their favours are being paid out even as the party decries warfare overall.
This level of mobilisation and spending has not been seen in the Sahren state since the Civil War. The difference now is the resources are not spent toward self-bludgeoning but in-stead for outward posturing, at risk of internal collapse.
