After a breif stay in Bal. Rhonda Reguwu's convoy, after notification from the department of state, arrives at the border checkpoint between Central Kafrica and Chikushinal, showing the border guards her Federal identity papers. After which her convoy was waved through the checkpoint on her way to her Hotel that the Central Kafrican Diplomatic Service (CKDS) had aquired for her. Booked for a week the former President would stay the night before making her way to the Chikushinal city center, under a combined convoy of Kafrican and Chikushi vehicles. Showing the newfound unity between the two parties.
After walking through the lines of assembled press, the Secretary of State took a position next to the Kafrican flag, awating the arrival of the other delegates. A black ZH-66 with runes on the side flies into the helipad behind the Government House, and a half dozen black suited agents step out before Stahlfuhrer Erich Von Buro, in his dress uniform, steps out of the aircraft. Erich is greeted by Chikushi officials and is guided past the media much like Rhonda Reguwu before him and directed to take his place next to the flag of the new Union of Suid Kafrika. Upon his arrival, Reguwu reaches over and offers him a handshake.
Not long after, a gigantic aircraft banked hard over Chikushinal, lining up on runway 33 of Fournloke-Chikushi International for short final. The blue and white Lion One touched down and taxied into the Presidential apron, where red carpet and reporters awaited. The Governor of Chikushinal along with his entourage greeted the President of Zokesia HM Maximilian I as he stepped down the stairs of the aircraft. Dressed in his Royal Air Force uniform, medals resplendent and moustache prominent, headed to the tarmac where multiple black SUVs awaited them. They arrived after a short drive through the city and took their seats under the Confederate and Chikushinal Flags.
A black SUV pulls onto the apron at Faira International Airport as out steps members of the national guard and the Solarian Paramount Leader Ortusius Kerman attired in full dress uniform. This is the first time he has been seen in public since he announced Solaria’s support of Blimp Drimp. As he walks down the red carpet leading to the airstairs, he declares before the gathered reporters, “I will bring our boys home.” With that, he steps into the jet black KY-1 amid fervent applause from the gathered crowd. It promptly rolls down the runway and departs into the skies as millions of Solarians watch on live television the first time the Paramount Leader had left the nation since the end of the civil war.
Within hours, the aircraft touched down at the Fournpoke-Chikushi International Airport. The humongous aerodyne taxis onto the ramp where Ortusius Kerman steps down the airstairs. He is greeted by a small Chikushi delegation before stepping into the black SUV freshly unloaded from the aircraft’s cargo bay for the brief drive to the city center. Arriving at the Government House, he is led in to take his place beneath the Solarian flag.
Maximilian rises to greet the Solarian party, then begins speaking.
“Good Afternoon, honorable world leaders. Today we meet to finalize lasting peace in Kafrica and unite this continent in a pledge of peace and stability for everyone. I thank you for meeting on common ground to sign this treaty recognizing the Free State of Chikushinal, Suid Kafrica and the rights of all Kafricans of self-determination.”
The Secretary of State greets the Solarian party after HM Maximilian I did so before sitting back down to her chair and listening to his short opening speech. Nodding as he went down his own agenda. Following this She rose to speak, her voice somewhat masculine yet with a hint of femininity in her voice as she spoke
"I thank the President for his attendence and see it as a vote of confidence in Kafrican security that such detailed attention is taken to the story of our troubled continent. Our governments have worked tirelessly to ensure that the aggressors in this matter are seen as the violent souls they are. Acting as if the 2090s had not taught us the lesson that Kafrican war is destabilizing to the world. I am personally happy that the rights of my Sisters are secured in my nation thanks to the combined efforts of Zokesia and her allies. Self-Determinism is a value that has been passed down in Kafrica through the 21st Century Solarian Spirit. When that spirit fell, the various nations in Kafrica upheld this ideal, until the Former President Blimp Drimp attempted to rip up our playbook. With these negotiations Central Kafrica turns a page for itself, and the continent, allowing it to once more indulge in self determinism. We achieve this through the recognition of our Southern neighbors, the Union of Suid Kafrika, and the Free State of Chikushinal."
after her slightly longer speech, she would sit back down smiling at all of the delegations present.
Stahlfuhrer Erich Von Buro rises.
“Guten Morgen, fellow Kafricans, Zokesians, Solariens. Vie are all of different backgrounds, some more noble zen ozers, but vie have gazzered here to form a notion of peace in our homes. Peace zat must br enforzed at zie tip of a sword, vie are used to having to provide. Now, Vie lift our swords togezer to live in a strong, united Kafrica. My people come from Bravis, and vie have been away from home for many years. Today vie put roots down in a new land and vill make every effort to enrich zie lives of zose under its roof, now und forevermore.”
The Paramount Leader stands to speak.
"Greetings, my friends. We may have had our differences, and I'm sure some of you may have your reservations, but I assure you the main goal of Solaria and its people is peace and unity on this continent. Now that Blimp Drimp is gone, I believe we can put our past conflicts aside at this table. I hope that this summit will lead to years of friendship and prosperity between our nations."
The aides pass copies of the treaty around the table. Items on it include:
-Repatriation of all POWs, Remains and refugees of the conflict for every side;
-Kafrica shall recognize the Free City of Chikushinal as a sovereign nation and give up claims to it hereunto and forevermore;
-Kafrica shall recognize the Union of Suid-Kafrican States as a sovereign nation and give up claims to it hereunto and forevermore;
-Solaria shall recognize the Free City of Chikushinal as a sovereign nation and give up claims to it hereunto and forevermore;
-Solaria shall recognize the Union of Suid-Kafrican States as a sovereign nation and give up claims to it hereunto and forevermore;
-The nations of Central Kafrica, Chikushinal, and Suid-Kafrica shall enter a mutual defense bloc known as United Kafrica;
-The nations of Central Kafrica, Chikushinal, and Suid-Kafrica shall begin a policy of open borders and free trade amongst each other effective immediately;
-Zokesia shall be granted special status in its mission to enforce stability in Kafrica with continued leases of NAS Fournloke and Chikushi Naval Base, and be granted Naval Base Sopost as per the 2154 Sopost Lease agreement;
-Stahlsieg forces shall be given military status while within the borders of the United Kafrica bloc to perform peacekeeping duties required of stability in the region;
That these articles be ratified by all present and codified hereunto and forever more without expiration, to be modified or anulled by unanimous vote of all parties present if so desired in the futue, signed on this day 27 June 2207.
Ortusius Kerman is stunned to learn that he apparently claims Chikushinal. The record will note this and amend the document to omit claims of claims by solaria which were not meant to be claimed. The Paramount Leader calls his secretary to his side to show him an official map of Solaria. He is shocked to see that Chikushinal is somehow labelled as Solarian soil. He immediately orders the cartographer who made it executed.
Rhonda gazes at the paper, reading it roughly, then taking a second reading before her finger stopped on the final point, leaning forward and beckoning the Stahlfuhrer over to talk to her. “Ja?” She'd speak in hushed, concerned tones of urgency as she explained her position on the final point to the treaty; "I really don't think my government would accept Stahl Seig troops within our borders, especially considering their status as Mercinaries. The history of our people are stained with the blood of genocided civilians, what isn't to say you won't start...you won't start selling grape smoothies at the consent of whichever government is paying for them?"
“Fraulein, vere was Zie Kafrican army ven drimp vas pushed back? It was my men who kept you safe at night, sleeping under MY MEN’s vatch. Vie are zie only peacekeepers in kafrica zat can actually be trusted to not run off vith some disgraced Kafrican leader unlike your men. Vie have been here longer zen your nation and vie vill be here long after Zentral Kafrica fades away.”
"And that would give you the right to turn us into a nice drink?" Rhonda tilts her head at such an offensive response by the Stahlfuhrer, surely he knew that the Kafrican army were a bunch of deserters "My Stahlfurher, you do know that the entire Kafrican army deserted to his side when he declared war on Chikushinal?" “Ja, all zie more reason to mot trust zem to keep us safe. And for Zie blenders, zat vas not us… in fact, i believe your fellow kafricans vere responsible for zat vere zey not?” His smile at Rhonda appears more smug than usual.
"Those were the eastern Kafricans, we are western Kafrican no?" She'd recoil from his smug expression, showing complete offense at the Stahlfuhrer's comments. “How can vie trust you, if you cannot trust us?” his smug expression vanishes into a serious face. “Zere are more serious matters and far greater stakes at hand zen us squabbling over trust. If vie cannot agree here vie will never be able to form a lasting peace, vie vill live in our cities in fear of each ozer as our enemies turn us agaisnt one anozer. And vie vill die alone, afraid, and for nozing.”
With this exchange, a short break in the meeting was called, with all the leaders moving out of the conference room to private rooms in the itnerim.
Day Two of the summit begins after deliberation through the previous day. The negotiations have split treaty requirements and a deal was seperately reached with Solarian delegates to return the bodies of fallen aviators from the conflict.
Picking up where was left off in the negotiations following the exchanges of pleasantries, Rhonda reapproached the Stahlfuhrer "I have confered with my President, and she is happy for me to comit to mandating a minimum amount of materiel in the region from Kafrican forces. We can form a lasting peace, we can form it without threatening either party's long term security."
“Ja, zese terms are acceptable. Vie have a deal” He shakes Rhonda’s hand as thr crowd applauds. "I believe that this would be quite vauge, however Central Kafrica commits to holding a ground force of 2.5 million funds within our territory" she'd say as she shook the Stahlfuhrer's hand, simultaniously signing the document "Ms R. Reguwu" The flash of cameras lights the room as all parties sign the Treaty of Fournloke.
