so basically, i work on an offshore broadcasting platform where we mostly just do things like take weather data and fix the occasional broken transmitter. but mostly nothing really happens here so me and the guys on the other shifts decided to start this blog thing.
anyways i think the platform is actually like a sea fortress they were using to try and intercept secret messages from other countries, i don’t really remember but it does mean there’s a lot of old ophirian stuff here. i’m from hedaile though so i actually can’t read most of it. the only one who works here who can read ophere is caron and i’ve never actually met him in person, we only talk through notes we leave behind so it takes FOREVERRR for me to ask him to translate something.
anyways that stuff is all boring, here’s some pictures !

as you can see these towers are HUGE and they’re all connected with these beams. it gets kinda scary at night though.

and this is the broken one. it was like that when we got here, no idea what made it tilt over like that. but of course nobody has been over there in forever because that walking beam thingy is also broken. but we’re working on a plan! in two months the schedule gets kinda weird so me AND cashin will be here at the same time for like two days, and he thinks he can get the boatman to drop him off at the broken tower. then i can throw ropes for him to catch and tie to it, and if we’re careful we could climb over to it whenever we want!
when i was writing those earlier parts yesterday one of the older military machines started spewing noise out of nowhere. i didn’t even know it worked, and i still can’t figure out what it does because it’s all in ophere. but this morning i did figure out one of the settings referred to directions. it got the loudest when i pointed it northwest-ish. i’ll leave a note for caron to look at it after i leave tomorrow. it's kinda exciting !
