A professor of Polecth University, who was last seen on a small charter boat off the coast of Arcaros, has been declared missing by the Ikonic Police Service.
Phileas Strabo, a 57-year-old astronomy professor at Polecth University in Arcaros, was last seen on the evening of July 15 in Sankrator harbour, the police service said in a statement on Tuesday. As of today, the search continues for Professor Strabo in the coastal regions of Arcaros, with the Ikonic Coast Guard also searching the littoral zone.
"It's just such an enormous tragedy", says Dr. Quinton Feta, dean of the Kerbin sciences department at Polecth University. "Professor Strabo was... is a highly regarded member of this faculty. Yes he was a little insane, and yes he did advocate for the massacre of Spearkan sympathisers. And yes the university board has disciplined him on seven separate occasions for... well anyway. We urge anyone who may have information regarding his whereabouts to come forward".
The circumstances surrounding the disappearance of Professor Strabo are unusual. He was last seen leaving the bay of Sankrator in a small boat, and his behaviour was described as erratic. When hailed by a returning fishing vessel who offered assistance to the seemingly distressed pilot of the boat, they received no answer but indistinct shouting.
"Well we came up alongside him, just like so, and then we puts all our lights on to try and get a better look at the guy, and the captain says something like 'You alright kyr?', and this guy just goes crazy."
Adrian Leech, a deckhand aboard the fishing vessel, recounts their encounter with Professor Strabo.
"And so he's cursing up a storm about how God has left this land or something, and he's gonna go where God is! Next thing we know he's gunning his engine into the 15ft swell and we don't see him no more. I guess that was that."
Authorities believe that Professor Strabo was attempting to sail to Kafrica following declarations by Kroman citizens that the continent is uniquely favoured by divinity.
It is known that Professor Strabo's mental health sharply declined after confirmation of the Spearkan Odyssey fleet's safe arrival at Selenya. Strabo had previously criticised the fleet and Spearkan sympathisers harshly, and withdrew into a gloomy palsy for weeks following the news.
Ikonic authorities continue the search for the missing Professor.
