For three decades, Dorislav has been led by the same man. He was 57 when he took office in 2184, replacing previous leader who had died of natural causes that year - he had only been in power for 1.9 years and was 84 years old.
His rise to power at 57 years old gave people a sense of optimism. They were confident that he would address what young Dorislavians had wanted for years and improve its economy, which had stagnated for years. Fast forward to 2206, however, they began to question his ability to lead. He was 79. Naturally, people will begin to question their leader's ability to lead as he gets older, which is what happened here.
The 2213 global financial crisis caused many nations' economies to tank and drop, and so was Dorislav. Aged 85 and about to turn 86 that year, many believed he wouldn't be able to handle the crisis well and only fuel the flames. However, their expectations turned out to be largely incorrect: he ordered a downsizing of the military and reduced spending in all economic sectors, thus causing a brief dip in agricultural and industrial output.
Now, at 88 years old, it seems like there isn't much time left for him in this world.
