In the hopes of constructing infrastructure (and other purposes) has begun the process of transferring approximately 34 cubic kilometers of material from Tylo into orbit. To make such an effort possible, a series of mass drivers will be constructed on the surface of Tylo, with each system being capable of moving 2 km3 of rock each year, Construction will begin promptly, with the hopes that assembly on the 10 mass drivers will be complete by late-2209, allowing for a project completion in 2211.
The project, while not actually reducing Tylo's mass or gravity by any significant amount, will permit the export of vast amounts of industrial products from the moon at significantly lower cost once this construction project is completed.
The exact aim of this initiative has not yet been unveiled to the general public, although the result, the SEA government says, will usher in a new level of prosperity and security for the Joolian system and its inhabitants.
