—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Situation
1.a. Area of Interest (AI) & Area of Operations (AO)
AI: Dres system from Low Dres Orbit (LDO) out to Dres approach corridor.
AO Boundaries: High Dres Orbit (HDO)
Terrain (Space Control Measures):
Observation & Fields of Fire: LOS unlimited; backgrounds: South Dres-controlled station in LDO; South Dres civil infrastructure; navigational beacons in Medium Dres Orbit.
Avenues of Approach: N/A, applicable as decided by COMTF-21.
Key Terrain: Low Dres Orbit (LDO); Dres L1/L2 orbits; Dres Polar Orbit (DPO); Jool-Dres transfer corridor.
Obstacles: South Dres civil traffic.
Cover & Concealment: EMCON, aggressive sensor use prohibited; planetshine masking marginal; jamming effectiveness minimal
Weather: Space weather nominal; illumination non-continuous, DMNT/EENT N/A.
1.b. Enemy Forces
Affiliation: SEAN (Solarian Extraplanetary Administation Navy) threat elements.
On-going Incidents: South Dres Free State Self-Defense Forces (SDFSSDF) forces have reported aggressive posturing by orbiting SEAN forces, including harassment of civil traffic, show-of-force against SDF units,
Composition: Fleet tracked in Medium Dres Orbit: 270 estimated 6th-Rate or lower missile ships with a cell count of six (6) Vertical Launch System (or equivalent) cells, possibly fewer.
Capabilities:
SEAN combat craft are estimated to possess a Thrust-to-Weight Ratio (TWR) of 4.0 or greater and are capable of maintaining high-G burns for extended durations.
Possibility for hostile sub-craft is estimated to be highly unlikely.
Most Likely Course of Action (MLCOA): SEAN conducts hostile/aggressive maneuvering around Atreus Aerospace Command (AASC) or SDFSSDF units in Dres Orbit; harassment via communications jamming and Fire-Control Radar (FCS) acquisition; SEAN reinforces with additional craft.
Most Dangerous Course of Action (MDCOA): SEAN forces strike at SDFSSDF leadership and infrastructure; AASC forces attempt to refuel but are defeated while lacking maneuverability.
1.c. Friendly Forces
Higher HQ Mission & Intent: NAVFLTCOM directs the maintenance of South Dres Free State sovereignty; minimization of the possibility of rapid escalation of hostile forces; maintain freedom of navigation. Preserve shipping and public safety.
Supporting Units: [REDACTED]; TF-31 tasked with refueling and maintenance; NAVFLTCOM will provide higher echelons of support as required.
Adjacent: Dres Station (refuel/hold); Dres Traffic Control (notification only); Dres SAR assets on call.
ROE/Risk Guidance: Engagement unauthorized unless hostile forces engage; minimize collateral damage.
2. Mission
2.a. Mission Objective
Mission Objective: Battlegroup Phi will defend South Dres Free State civilian infrastructure, property, traffic, and maintain freedom-of-navigation from Dres surface to High Dres Orbit (HDO) beginning from the time of arrival of AASC combat elements until otherwise stated; maintain Veiid-Dres relations and prevent a hostile intrusion of SEA forces into the inner Kerbol System.
3. Execution
3.a. Commander’s Intent
Purpose: Maintain South Dres’ self-determination; prevent an effective seizure of orbital control and infrastructure by any means necessary; prevent escalation.
Method: Decisive engagement of SEAN forces in Dres SOI only if SEAN assets begin hostilities; AASC units engage and destroy SEAN orbital forces before reinforcements arrive.
Enemy Center-of-Gravity: Control of Dres’ key terrain (see 1.a.); Jool-Dres transfer corridors; orbital dominance.
Enemy Critical Vulnerability: Lack of overarching logistical infrastructure; no dedicated ship-borne foot mobile or mechanized forces.
Exploitation Plan: use of UOV to expend hostile munitions and attrition against a numerically superior enemy, followed by skirmishing Raven-Class Frigates against larger enemy forces; clustered SEAN forces scattered and reduced in number before being destroyed by AASC Task Units (TUs); if required, NAVSPECWAR ODAA will disembark, engaging SEAN ground forces on the surface.
Endstate: SEAN orbital forces rendered combat ineffective or destroyed; SEAN logistical assets rendered non-factor or captured; SEA ground forces destroyed or rendered ineffective; AASC and SDFSSDF maintain sovereignty and freedom-of-navigation.
4. Administration and Logistics
4.a. Administration
WIA: Personnel wounded-in-action will be transported via South Dres Free State shuttle-craft to Dres Station; triage will occur under SDFSSDF forces.
KIA: Personnel killed-in-action will be transferred to Dres station before being transferred to Dres surface for staging; transferred to New Corvus NAS ASAP.
Enemy Prisoners of War (EPWs): EPWs are unlikely to be encountered or recovered; SDFSSDF Search-and-Rescue (SAR) teams will handle detection and recovery of EPWs; AASC-held EPWs will be held in stasis if uninjured; wounded EPWs will be handled the same as WIA personnel.
Casualty Evacuation (CASEVAC):
AASC WIA/KIA will be transported from the site of injury to staging areas via SDFSSDF shuttlecraft; Dres Station will be the site of initial treatment.
Increasingly severe injuries will be rendered stable at Dres Station; stable casualties will be transferred to South Dres to undergo further recovery and treatment.
In the event of the inability of South Dres facilities to be able to handle casualties, elements of TF-31/32 will be modified for long-term cryogenics; task-organized elements of TF-31/32 will make best speed for New Corvus, or New Rison NAS.
4.b. Logistics
Preparation: BG Phi will be supported by TF-31/32; Dres Station will be used to stage logistical operations.
Fuel: TF-31 will be dedicated to supporting BG Phi with Liquid Fuel and Oxidizer as required; Dres Station will be used to replenish TF-31 as required.
Ammunition: Ammunition resupplies are not pre-staged; SDFSSDF munitions will be used to supplement remaining ammunition stores as they are expended; additional logistical elements will be organized as required.
Rations: South Dres will supply additional rations for the duration of the orders; BG Phi will remain at minimum crew staffing under the discretion of COMTF-21; non-essential personnel will remain in stasis to lengthen the duration of current rations; TF-32 will maintain reserve rations.
5. Command and Signal
5.a. Command
Location of Commander (LOC): COMBGPHI will be attached to BRAVO-002 for the duration of the orders; however, LOC of COMBGPHI is at the discretion of COMBGPHI.
Succession of Command: 2ICBGPHI attached to CHARLIE-006; COMTF-21 attached to CHARLIE-001; COMTF-22 attached to CHARLIE-003; COMTF-31 attached to TANGO-001; COMTF-32 attached to MIKE-001; follow-on succession is at the discretion of COMBGPHI.
5.b. Control
Control: Current SOI is in effect; amenable under the authority of COMBGPHI.
Reports: BG Phi will report to COMSECONDFLT; NAVFLTCOM every six (6) hours at the top of the hour (XX00); contains fleet positioning, sensor data, reports of incidents with SEAN forces; other information as requested by COMSECONDFLT; NAVFLTCOM.
5.c. Signal
Primary: Standard Fleet Communications System (SFCS).
Alternate: UHF/VHF Line-of-Sight (LOS) communications.
Contingency: High-Frequency (HF) Radios; secure electronic mail.
Emergency: Pulsed-Light messaging; digital signal flags; open-frequency encoded text transmissions.
