In a statement released earlier today, the House of Voley announced that it had given the Learod Corporation permission to grant a production license to the Kingdom of Elohim for its newest line of military trucks, the Learod-230. Filia Learod, who inherited the company from her grandfather Artyom Learod, stated that Elohim would be producing "hundreds, at least" of the trucks, but declined to give more specific production numbers. When asked what motivated the decision to grant a license, she had this to say:
I believe in a free Union, and we cannot guarantee our own freedom without the means to protect it. At this time, the Kingdom of Elohim is fighting a war in southern Doren against an authoritarian expansionist Basil and her puppets. Elohim is fighting for the rights of Kerbals everywhere, allowing them to produce our equipment will help them win that fight, and give us valuable data that will inform future developments and the way our equipment is used.
The office of the president declined to comment.
Secretary of Defense Adeline Koval said this when asked for comment:
Elohim is fighting the good fight, and they'll fight it with our trucks so we know they work. Can't say much else, still writing RFPs, can you grab me a coffee before you go? Thanks.
The Department of Defense is expected to issue a large batch of Requests for Proposal soon, which will give companies and foreign powers the opportunity to provide the Union with military equipment through sales or production licenseing. A large portion of the proposals are expected to be foreign, though the Learod Corporation will almost certainly be a major player in the air defense competitions.
